Privacy policy
Last updated October 3, 2026
The Bridal Binder ("we", "us") helps couples and wedding planners share wedding information with guests through a question-and-answer page. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and a username made from it. Most accounts have no password: you sign in with a code we email you, or with Google. If your account does have a password, we store only a secure one-way hash of it.
- Wedding content: documents you upload, the wedding details you type in, locations, notes for the assistant and settings.
- Questions and answers: questions people ask on a wedding's page and the answers given. These are saved so the couple and the people planning the wedding can see what guests are asking.
- Payments: when you buy a plan, Stripe handles the payment page and your card details; we never see your card number. We keep a record of the plan, the amount paid and the email address used.
- Technical information: IP addresses and basic request logs, used for security, such as limiting repeated wrong passcodes, and recorded with each question so the couple's plan can't be run down by one person. Records of wrong passcode attempts are deleted after two days.
- Cookies: only the essential ones: keeping you logged in, protecting forms against forgery, remembering that you entered a page's passcode, and your time zone so times show in your local time. We don't use advertising cookies.
How we use it
To run the service: answering guests' questions from a wedding's documents, letting the people planning a wedding manage it, taking payment for plans, preventing abuse, and supporting you. We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Who can see wedding content
- People with a wedding's share link see only the documents, answers and locations the couple or planner chose to share on that link, and only after entering its passcode if one is set. The assistant answers from the same material and nothing more.
- People added to a wedding (for example, the couple, their planner and family helping plan) can see and edit everything in it, including the questions guests ask.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the service:
- Anthropic provides the AI that writes answers. A wedding's shared documents and guests' questions are sent to Anthropic to generate each answer. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it may not use this content to train its models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Render hosts our website, database and stored files.
- Stripe processes payments for plans. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend delivers the emails we send: sign-in codes, invitations and notices about a plan's usage.
- Google, if you choose "Continue with Google": Google tells us your email address and name, and we never see your Google password.
- MapTiler and OpenStreetMap place venue addresses on the Map tab. The addresses the planning team enters are sent to them to find the spot, and guests' browsers load map images from MapTiler (or OpenStreetMap), which sees their IP address as any website would.
- Cloudflare's cdnjs serves the map library to browsers; like any website visited, they see the browser's IP address.
How long we keep it
We keep your content while your account is active. When you delete a document or a wedding, we delete it from our storage and from the AI provider's file storage (we keep only what each question cost, and payment records, for billing); copies may remain in backups for a short period before they're overwritten. To delete your account, contact us.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), sign people in with emailed codes or Google rather than passwords, limit repeated wrong passcode attempts, and keep share-link pages out of search engines. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a passcode for anything you wouldn't want a stranger to see.
Children
The Bridal Binder isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and let account holders know of significant changes.
